Bears’ Trubisky Throws Five Touchdowns Before Halftime

Mitchell Trubisky looks pretty comfortable today.

He has thrown for five touchdowns, in the first half.

That’s right, all five were before halftime.

The second-year quarterback is demolishing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Soldier Field.

There was talk on the pregame shows about the Chicago Bears simplifying the offense to help him get more comfortable.

“If the teacher goes ‘Do you want an easy test?’ you’re going to say ‘Heck ya!’ Less you are going to study, so you’re going to ace this test,” said Trubisky when asked if he would be upset if the playbook was simplified. “Maybe that’s the comparison you make. We’re gonna pull back this week, do I play fast, do we play better? I guess we’re all going to see. Like I said, I’m going to do whatever they ask me to do to the best of my ability.”

I’d say that’s mission accomplished, at least so far.  No Chicago Bears quarterback, in history, has done what Trubisky’s accomplished today.

It could be the end for Ryan Fitzpatrick’s time as Tampa Bay’s starting quarterback. Jameis Winston is back from suspension, I don’t think he’ll be holding a clipboard for long.

Fitzpatrick will take a great deal of the blame for this performance by Tampa Bay, but their defense isn’t doing him any favors either.

The Bears went into halftime leading Tampa Bay, 38-3. That’s blowout city.

So if you have Trubisky as your Fantasy Football quarterback today, dinner is on you!
