Myles Powell has had moments where he looks half-man and half amazing. His latest performance, however, is giving new meaning to the phrase.
Powell exploded in the first half for Seton Hall in their Big East quarterfinal matchup against Georgetown. The junior guard lit the scoreboard up, Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. He went 10-for-14 from the field for 29 points. He was 4-for-7 from behind the three-point line.
Powell’s 29 points set a new Big East tournament record for most points scored in a half by a player.

But, wait a second. Here’s the kicker on Powell’s record-breaking performance. His 29 points outscored the entire Georgetown team.
Let that sink in.
When Seton Hall is on like this, they’re must-see television. Markus Howard for Big East Player of the Year? Powell clearly is letting his play speak for him in that debate.
If Seton Hall advances to the semifinals, they’ll meet Marquette and Markus Howard.
Game on!
